NEWS ITEM / IM OVER 60 GET ME OUT OF HERE

Friendship Clubs Challenge at Taste For Adventure

The sun was shining when 12 of the over 60’s from Taste for Adventure’s Friendship Club lined up to take part in
I’m over 60 get me out of here!

There were a series of challenges for them to take part in with each challenge being followed by a bush tucker trial which saw;
Ron Mills and Mary Reynolds eat a jam doughnut without licking their lips.
Carol Jenkins and Nancy Reynolds had to eat BBQ’d worms which went down very well!
Caroline Winter and Hazel Lawrence were blindfolded and had to search for hidden objects in a bowl full of treacle!...and yes you’ve guessed it....there was nothing in there!  So...they then put their hands into a lovely bowl full of rice krispies to find two 5p coins...what a sticky mess!
Snowy Davall and Reg Chant shared the delights of eating giant chocolate covered ants!
While  Brenda Lindesay and Sybil Davall enjoyed retrieving smarties and maltesers out of a jug of cider with a straw.
We finished off the morning with a lovely lunch and then a rhyme which was composed by the challengers, the winning one is at the bottom of the page.
We would like to thank everyone who took part in the challenges and bush tucker trials, all the spectators who enjoyed laughing at the trials and of course the money that was raised for the friendship club.
£537.00
Special thanks to Dawn at Bee Line who at the last minute printed the T shirts for us.

Brummie come blow your horn,
The worms are brown and burnt,
The arrows flew-but where
Tyres should be kept on wheels’
And wellies on people’s feet,
Tucker comes in bowls so big,
So that the chosen one’s can dig,
Hands are used-sticky mess,
But what good fun,
Shared in the sun.
