NEWS ITEM / BRUMMIES 10K BURN

Sunday 5th April 2009 - Garnon's Estate

Once again we were blessed by beautiful spring sunshine on Sunday 5th April when we hosted the second ‘Brummie’s 10K Burn’ (hmm,or was it around 11K ?) on the lovely Garnon’s Estate.

Sixty runners arrived full of life and raring to go and pumped their way  across the lawns, up Garnon’s Hill and through the woods, taking in this truly stunning location en route.

First home, in a very impressive 43 minutes was John Pullen from Wye Valley Runners, followed very shortly after by Mick Ballantyne and then Chris Griffiths, also Wye Valley Runners. First lady back was Alison Cook from Hereford Couriers.

All of the runners did a fantastic job and all returned to enjoy the great cakes made by Toni and Lynn – i’m sure the pain was worth it just for the cake!

As always we would like to thank everyone for taking part, all the money raised goes to helping us to help less privileged young and elderly. Also a big thank you to all the volunteers who helped on the day and a very special thanks to Harry Cotterell and Sir John Cotterell for very kindly allowing us to hold this event in their grounds; without people like you we could not help the people we do.

Keep an eye out on our fundraising events page to see what’s coming up in the future.
