I would like to say thank you to all the people who have supported us during 2009. We have been overwhelmed by the good nature and the hands that have been extended to us in the last year and in particular for the support we received during our Charity Abseil off Hereford Cathedral on Saturday 4th July.
Col Andrew Eames and the Cathedral Committee very kindly let us use this historic building to host the abseil, where a total of 48 brave people walked the 218 steps to the tower and abseiled down to the bottom. The day was a great success with plenty of onlookers voicing their support for friends and family.
My thanks also go to the staff and volunteers of Taste For Adventure who helped on the day to make it such a great event and all those who sponsored friends and family; the money will really help us to continue to provide a unique service in Hereford that has, over the past 15 years, helped over 30,000 individuals and we will also be donating money to Hereford Cathedral for ongoing restoration.
The sense of support and the good nature that we have felt has made us feel very humble and proud to be part of such a fantastic community of people.
Special thanks to Elaine Bilbao and Kath Thompson from Hereford Admag, who assisted the publicity with a brilliant double page spread about the event and also for the donation of £117.00 from supporting advertisements. Elaine and Kath also took part in the abseil themselves, well done!
A massive thank you to everybody who abseiled, put up a poster, forwarded an email, told a friend, told a partner, told a work mate, handed out a flyer, passed on the information and helped in any other way but most importantly to those of you who took time out to think of us and to help us continue doing the fantastic work we do with people of all ages and abilities!!
