Lynn receives her MBE at Windsor
Staff at Taste for Adventure were very excited to hear that Lynn Stokes had been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday honours list in June. Lynn received her award on Tuesday 1st December at Windsor Castle.
Lynn, who has helped to set up and run the Centre with her husband “Brummie” Stokes MBE BEM since it began in 1991, receives her award in recognition of her work within the community and in particular her work with the Over 60’s groups from Burghill and Credenhill, which involves providing hot lunches during the winter and various trips during the year.
Lynn said “I was shocked, but very pleased to get this award, I was not expecting it, so it was an honour. No one ever thinks they will get an MBE, so for me to get one is lovely”.
