Introduction to climbing course for 9 to 16 year olds


Taste for Adventure are running a new course this Easter -  the ‘Introduction to climbing’ course will start during the Easter holidays and is aimed at 9 to 16 year olds.
The course will be 4 half day sessions run over a two week period;

 
Day 1 – Wednesday April 7th from 9.30am until 12pm – Safety equipment, how to belay and Rainbow session in the boulder barn, climbing different routes with fun games to develop new skills and increase confidence.



Day 2 – Friday April 9th from 9.30am until 12pm - Re-cap key elements from day 1, session in boulder barn encouraging use of one colour and twisting of the hips; setting realistic climb to work towards.



Day 3 – Monday April 12th from 9.30am until 12pm - Re-cap key elements of days 1 and 2, climbing more efficiently towards silent feet and keeping the body moving.



Day 4 – Wednesday April 14th from 9.30am until 12pm – Final day on site to link all the previous skills learnt alongside silent feet, always in motion and achieving the chosen climb selected on day 2.
 

 
Over the 4 day course participants will learn basic climbing techniques, all safety aspects, how to belay and spot, and can set themselves an achievable goal to work to.



At the end of the course a Certificate of Attendance will be issued along with the option to take part on the off-site climbing day on Friday 16th April at a reduced rate.

 
Full Course attendance Cost (4 days) = £60.00


Single day attendance cost = £20.00 per day
